We require access to your Google Ads and Analytics account before we can properly monitor for click fraud. Listed below is an explanation of the permissions required, why we require them, and how they are used throughout the PPC Protect system.
Your privacy is important to us, any data collected from your accounts is used solely for the purpose of protecting your Google Ads spend from click fraud. We will never sell, share, or release information relating to your account.
How We Use This Data:
Generic historical data from Google Analytics is used to gain better insight into traffic and conversion history for any domains with ads pointing to them. This data is used as part of an aggregate profile to assist in identifying suspicious or fraudulent activity.
PPC Protect requires the ability to manage some parts of your Google Ads campaigns. The entirety of our management scope is outlined below. Note - this is NOT the same as a "Manager Access Request".
Automated IP Restrictions
PPC Protect will create, update, and remove IP Block objects from your AdWords account, it's campaigns, and it's advertisements.
Tracking URL Template
PPC Protect can automatically update your account's Tracking URL Template. This setting controls where the user is directed upon clicking an ad, and what data is passed to the specified URL.
Auto Tagging Enabled
PPC Protect can automatically update your account's Auto Tagging Enabled setting. This setting must be enabled in order to collect information on users clicking your ads, and in almost all cases is already enabled.
We also collect a small amount of data that is required in order for our system to be able to properly sync with your Google Ads account. Without a proper understanding of your Google Ads account structure, we would not be able to automate the process of blacklisting fraudulent users. We store the following pieces of information from your Google Ads account;
Google Ads Customer Data
Most accounts have a single "Google Ads Customer" responsible for managing ads. MCC or Manager accounts handle campaigns for multiple "sub-accounts". We store information such as the "Customer Id" for each of your listed customers.
Our system stores information on each of your campaigns, such as its unique identifier, it's serving status, and it's current tracking URL template.
Generic data for each advertisement is stored in order to help us determine the ad's final URL, and whether the landing page currently has our JS tracking script installed.
